Melody Rodgers

Ms. Rodgers joined FLF in fall 2006 after completing two years with Teach for America in Baltimore City, Maryland. With a degree from University of North Carolina in Economic Development & Finance and International Business, Ms. Rodgers brings significant knowledge to her Financial Management elective courses. She is a dedicated teacher and colleague — serving as a mentor to her students and reaching out to her fellow teachers to help with taxes and answer financial questions. Ms. Rodgers serves as a role model and mentor to her students and inspires them to use their business skills to set goals and achieve success. As part of her class, each student reads Rich Dad, Poor Dad and explores the characteristics and attitudes required for success. Ms. Rodgers has become a popular fixture at Anacostia, where she teaches two classes and has developed close ties with the administration and students. Dedicated to the community, she also conducts workshops and lectures to Southeast residents on credit and taxation.
