Ashley Ellis

I learned a lot of useful information about credit cards in my Financial Management class. I have decided, along with my parents, to get a credit card. It will help me establish myself as a responsible credit card holder. I shared information I learned about taxes with my parents. Learning about taxes was very helpful because I will be working this summer. Because I make so little money I am exempt from federal taxes, but social security and Medicare taxes will be taken out.

I will use the information I learned about savings accounts and interest to continue saving money for college. I will be able to protect myself against identity theft or at least be able to notice it sooner. I’ve really enjoyed this class and found it very useful. I have enough information to be an educated consumer.

Taking Financial Planning as a course this year was a wonderful experience. I learned so many new things. Learning about taxes is very useful information that I will use in the future. I learned how to file for a tax forms like the W-4. I also learned how to file how to file a tax return. I can now show and teach my parents how to do their taxes.

Other information I learned in Financial Planning that I will use in college is how to use and build credit. I can start building up my credit by signing up for a credit and making sure that I pay my bills on time. Building credit is important so when I get out of college I can get a loan for a car or house.

What I have learned about credit will help me in the future to get loans, manage my money in college, make a down payment on a house, and survive financially in college. Learning to budget and maintain good credit will definitely help me in college. College is very expensive, but I’ve learned to use my money wisely. I also have used what I have learned to help my family. My sister is going to college this fall and I’m helping her budget her money.

Financial Planning was a very useful class. I learned mange things that will benefit me when I am doing things like getting a credit card or paying my taxes. It was a good class because I now understand the stock market really well and when we did our stock portfolio project, it was almost as if I was really investing.

Giving us projects is good because it gives us a way to apply the knowledge we have learned. My best friend’s dad is an investment advisor and I am able to talk to him about his work. He was very impressed with my accuracy when discussing the financial terms.

Through the year, we have learned how to write a resume, fill out tax forms, budget, and analyze stocks. I found budgeting to be very useful because I have a tendency to spend money. Budgeting will be the most useful in college because I will be away from home and will need to know how to spend my money wisely.

This class has benefited my life. I have learned about credit, how to avoid bad credit, jobs and the stock market. Learning how to prepare for a job interview can really help for future job opportunities as well.

In college, I am going to have to budget my money. This class has taught me how to budget my money so that I know how much money to spend and what to spend it on.

When our class learned about taxes, I shared with my mother all of the forms that we learned about and how to fill them out. My mother pays someone to do her taxes and after I explained to her how simple taxes could be, she has decided to learn more so she could do it herself. This class has benefited my family as well and for the future, I can save money by the things I have learned.

This class has taught me many things like how to prepare for a job interview, what bartering is, how to fill out job forms like a w-4 and tax forms like a 1040EZ, and how to budget.

When we played the roles of employer and employee and do interviews, we found out the questions that were most likely going to be asked when we go on a real job interview. We also learned about the hiring process and how to fill out employment forms like the I-9 and W-4.

We went over credit in class and also talked about how having a credit card has positive and negative effects depending on how you use it. This will help me in college because most likely I will have a credit card and the information learned in my class will remind me how to use it responsibly.

Tynesha Lloyd

I found out how to use a credit card smartly, rather than just use it on things I don’t really need. This will help me manage my money wisely when I go off to college.

In my opinion, this class has been the most applicable to every day life. I acquired skills that will actually be useful during college and in my adult life. Not only did we learn financial management techniques, but I was able to apply them by assisting my siblings in filing their tax forms.
